TRC in the community
IN 2009 TRC Group implemented a program of work called "TRC in the Community". The program was set up with the intention of providing support to NSW community based charities. The program works with the specified aim of supporting local charitable organisations through:
- Regular donations
- Innovative redesign of internal processes to facilitate support by staff and contractors
- Offering promotion of chosen charitable organisations throughout our network
- Offering of the teams time to help out wherever possible
- Regular Canvassing of staff and contractors for new charitable ideas
- Petitioning of suppliers to gain their support
- Support and sponsor staff and contractors who undertake charitable activities
- Organisation of fund raising events
- Donating to charities via our post placement online survey
- Co-branding with charities on all TRC Group advertising
Although providing adhoc support to various charities the main organisation supported by the program is Giant Steps, a charity funded school located in Gladesville NSW. The school caters specifically for children with autism aged 2 to 18. It utilises occupational therapy, speech therapy and music to create intensive programs for children.
TRC is a regular supporter of the charity and provides the school with donations for technology solutions including software designed to help autistic children integrate into mainstream schools, develop important life skills and reach their full potential.
In additon to charitable work, TRC in the Community is also aimed at finding innovative ways of:
- Reducing TRC Group's carbon footprint
- Supporting industry development through active membership of organisations such as the Diversity Council of Australia
